Story :

In just two summer weeks, a British tennis player who was ranked 157th in the world (Bettany), and generally considered to be on his last legs as a professional player, gets his one last chance to win both the All-England Lawn Tennis Championships on the grassy courts of Wimbledon... and the heart of the rising star "bad girl of tennis" (Dunst) as well.

ปีเตอร์ (พอล เบ็ตตานีย์) หนุ่มอังกฤษที่รั้งตำแหน่งอันดับท้ายๆ ในการจัดอันดับมือวางนักเทนนิส เขาได้รับเชิญให้เข้าร่วมแข่งขันวิมเบิลดัน ซึ่งจะเป็นการแข่งขันครั้งสุดท้ายของเขา แต่เมื่อปีเตอร์เกิดตกหลุมรักนักเทนนิสสาวชาวอเมริกันที่กำลังมาแรงอย่างลิซซี่ (เคิร์สเตน ดันสต์) พลังบนสนาม ฝีมือ และโชคเล็กๆ น้อยๆ กลับทำให้เขาสามารถเอาชนะการแข่งขันเกมแล้วเกมเล่า จนทำให้เขาเข้าใกล้ความฝันที่จะคว้าตำแหน่งเทนนิสชายเดี่ยว
