Story :

San Te (Gordon Liu) joins the Shaolin Temple when the Manchus kill his family and destroy his village. In the temple, he undergoes a rigorous and torturous training. When the temple disapproves of his idea to open a school for the public to learn Shaolin style, he returns to his village to open the first public school, so that the populous can stand up against the ruling Manchus.
