Fresh versions of old songs

I watched this whole thing with a big smile on my face. It's not the huge WOW that was the last Palmy concert "Palmy - Ga Ga Ga" (which had I think 5 special guests, extravagant costume changes, a light show, a full piece orchestra, lines of back up dancers, and Palmy wowing everyone with impossible dance moves on the final song.) "Barefoot Acoustic" means what it says. This is more down-to-Earth, but it is beautiful. Although Palmy sings many of the same songs as last time, they sound new and remarkably different done in this acoustic style. Her 4-peice band was, surprisingly, all farang. Palmy herself also played guitar for most of the songs. The surprise guest, Singto Numchoke, is wonderful. His voice sounds like John Legend's, and his ukelele fits perfectly with the whole "Barefoot Acoustic" theme (though Singto does have to be coaxed by Palmy to take his shoes off). Hugo is the music director of the show, but this time, only sings one song, an interesting cover of "Walk the Line." He left me wanting more. The biggest "wow" of night was Palmy's cover of "Blackbird." Every song sounds fresh and every songs is evocative. The sad songs brought the crowd to tears, and of course they were hyped and ready to "Rong Dang Dang" (Sing Loudly) through a string of hits at the end, climaxing in "Ga Ga Ga." (But this time no swing dancing *pouting face*) For me, the fashion is an important element. There were only three costume changes, and the last one was worth the wait: a headdress with feathers, and antique-looking blouse, a patchwork leather jumper with feathers and fringes in the skirt. Very, very nice!
