Story :

20XX. Paris, New York, Sydney, Shanghai... More than 10 monsters appear in the world at once. The United Nations wages final wars against the monsters combining the power of all the Earth Defense Force to save mankind. However, people are panicked by the enormous power of the monsters and the forces take the defensive.

While the intense fighting continues all over the world, suddenly, an enormous flying object appears and extinguishes the monsters with a beam in a matter of seconds. And then, aliens who call themselves "Xiliens" propose a peace treaty with the Earth...

Meanwhile Godzilla is sleeping calmly in Antarctic ice at that time...

I've watched this now a couple times. Good movie. My only complaints are there should have been more time for the monsters, less on the human/alien aspects. My other complaint is they need to redo the score. I don't think I've heard Keith Emerson's work before, but I could sure tell it in this. There is little to like about his score, the rest is horrible.
All in all, good movie. I did enjoy it even tho I don't understand Thai.

I have enjoyed watching Godzilla since I was young. I have seen the movies of Godzilla over and over to make sure what they meant. This in particular, made me watch it over and over and over and over, etc., and come to realize this was different. Sure the action scenes were good, the SFX were on the money but the way the movement of the movie gave me some pause. I actually looked at it differently. like in was more of a martial arts type film and not a Godzilla movie. Don't get me wrong, Kitamura is a great director, VERSUS and SKY HIGH were wonderful. However, maybe TOHO would have chosen someone else to direct this film and given it to someone who knows more about this genre very well. Me personally, I would have chosen Shuske Kaneko or maybe, just maybe Tezuka. This movie is good but could have been much better if it was just more on the monsters and not the fighters.
