Story :

A successful NRI businesssman (Amrish Puri) who has settled in the west coast of the United States of America, comes down to India to visit his old friend (Alok Nath). He has two sons - Rajeev (Apurva Agnihotri) and an adopted son (Shah Rukh Khan). Charmed by his friend's daughter, Kusum Ganga (Mahima Chaudhary), he proposes that she marry Rajeev who has a totally Westernised outlook and upbringing. His father thinks that a good dose of Indian culture, beauty and tradition is what he needs. Rajeev and Ganga have an engagement ceremony and she is sent abroad to get a taste of what life is going to be.
