Story :

A sacred Buddha statuette called Ong Bak is stolen from a rural village and it soon becomes the task of a young man, Boonting (Phanom Yeeram), to track the thief down to Bangkok and reclaim the religious treasure. Along the way, Boonting must use his astounding athleticism and traditional Muay Thai skills to combat his adversaries.

เรื่องราวเกิดขึ้นเมื่อพระพุทธรูปอันเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และเคารพบูชาของหมู่บ้านหนองประดู่ ได้ถูกวายร้าย ดอน (วรรณกิตย์ ศิริพุฒ) ตัดเศียรขโมยไป บุญทิ้ง (จา พนม ยีรัมย์) หนุ่มน้อยบ้านหนองประดู่ อาสาออกตามหามาจนถึงกรุงเทพฯ เขาได้เจออ้ายห่ำแหล่หรือ ยอร์จ (หม่ำ จ๊กมก) ลูกชายผู้ใหญ่บ้าน ผู้ที่ลืมท้องนากลิ่นควายบ้านนอก และคู่หูร่วมอาชีพ หมวยเล็ก (ภุมวารี ยอดกมล) ทั้งคู่มีอาชีพเป็นนักต้มตุ๋นตัวยง ด้วยความ ไม่รู้อีโหน่อีเหน่เพิ่งมาจากบ้านนอก บุญทิ้งจึงไว้ใจห่ำแหล่ เห็นเป็นคนบ้านเดียวกัน แต่แล้วเขาก็โดนทั้งสอง ต้มเอาเงินไป ด้วยความที่บุญทิ้งเป็นคนดี และได้ช่วยเหลือชีวิตของทั้งสองไว้ ภายหลังบุญทิ้งจึงได้รับความช่วยเหลือจากทั้งสอง พร้อมทั้งต้องต่อสู้กับศัตรูมากมายด้วยศิลปะมวยไทยโบราณ ในขณะที่เขาต้องหาองค์บากให้เจอและนำกลับคืนสู่หมู่บ้าน ให้ทันประเพณีบวชหมู่อีกเจ็ดวันให้ได้

Whole movie is in Thai and when I put the subtitles to English it was like an old world english that made no sence, but it was funny. And the Movie has to be one of the greatest Fighting Movies I have ever seen, Especially how they use the slow motion, great great great.

Hi, watched this movie back in 2003 in thailand; chiang mai when i was training in muay thai/muay buran. It's the best!!! wow!
I've been going on about it for the last 2 years in the UK since I've been back, it's getting released finally on May 13th here!
I've got the DVD, behing the scene and VCD! since 2003.
by the way there is a new movie by the same cast (Panom Yeerum aka Tony Jaa his movie name now, the fat guy) & same director.

Called: Tom Yum Goong, which is a thai dish i think?

I'm a Thai kid but I'm studying in Alberta, Canada.
I watched this movie with many Asian friends, and guess what they all said after 1 and a half hour of this movie? THE BEST FIGHTING MOVIE EVER!
Even my Chinese friends say this movie is better than any other Chinese fighting movies!
What an awesome movie! I love it!
