I owned a thai video store and each other year there is new versions of nang nak. some are 1 video tape long, others are 12-15 video tapes long. each version is different than the others, story lines are great depends on the actors/actress. but if u have a chance go to ne thai video stores and rent the full version(12-15 tapes)
u wont be disapointed, even though will take most of ur time watching it and most scenes will scare u till ur hairs go up high. (laughting)

Growing up my father told many bedtime stories, one of my favorites would be the haunting one of Nang Nak for the fact that it is an infamously true story. There have been various movie versions of Nang Nak, I believe this one would be the most precise to the story I’ve heard so long ago.

Hearing the story as a child, it would scare my siblings and I half to death - keeping us up all night. But as an adult viewing the movie now, it’s more heartbreaking than scary.

To those who have not seen Nang Nak, it is truly a beautiful film of undying love.

I am quite a big fan of this film, and for a number of reasons. My friend spent some time in Thailand, and at that time this was breaking box it's office records. Being a huge fan of asian cinema, he brought me home a vcd copy of the film. there were however no subtitles. lol.

He enjoyed this film so much, he watched it with me and told me everything they were saying. I was intrigued by the story, the characters were very beliveable as well as the supernatural plot. The fact that the film is based on Thai legend lends the film an air of believabilty uncommon in most horror films.

I later aquired my own copy of the vcd, then the dvd both complete with english subtitles. The film is fantastic on all levels and translates easily for american audiences. It is a rare glimpse into Thai culture, as well as mythology. Ideal for fans of World Cinema, or those looking for a wonderful film.
