About - Malulee Pinsuvana

A native of northern Thailand, Pinsuvana is descended from a long line of chefs; she is the daughter and grand-daughter of chefs to the royal Thai court. Trained in fine-arts instruction, she taught in schools in Asia and across the world as she moved from place to place with her husband, who worked for the Thai government. She quickly discovered that the foods of her homeland were difficult to prepare for expat Thais deprived of the basics of the Thai kitchen. Pinsuvana began offering classes in her kitchen, and in 1976, she published her first cookbook, Cooking Thai Food in American Kitchens.
